Another alley some miles away in North Acton, leads up from Old Oak Lane to Wells House Road, a triangular street perhaps 20 foot above, though an archway.

There are around 125 semi-detached houses in the road, some built for railway workers, all dating from the early years of the last century and the road is under threat from the planned Old Oak Common HS2 station, London's biggest new station, for which many houses would lose their gardens, as well as being in the middle of a vast building site for years.

As well as the rail scheme, massive tower blocks proposed by Sadiq Khan's London plan which would bring 24,000 new homes and up to 55,000 jobs to the area. Some resident might qualify for a scheme to purchase their houses, but since the area has already been affected by planning blight, greatly depressing market values, they would not get sufficient to buy comparable properties in the surrounding area.

Another scheme that will affect the area is the plan to sell off Victoria Coach Station and move London's chief coach terminal there, which will also be extremely inconvenient for the great majority of coach travellers.
