Brentford used to be on two railway lines, the Southern Railway 'Hounslow Loop' and a branch leading from the Great Western mainline at Southall to Brentford Dock. There was a station just west of Brentford Bridge a few yards north of the High St. Passenger services stopped in 1942 but the line through Brentford remained open for goods until Brentford Dock closed at the end of 1964. North of the Great West Road the line ends at a goods yard and waste transfer station.

The railway viaduct is still there, but the bridge across London Road was dismantled after the line was closed. The station, immediately north of London Road, was dismantled at track level, but the ground level buildings on the west side remain and are now a bright orange garage. Sections of the viaduct remain both north and south of London Road/Brentford High St. When Brentford Dock was redeveloped as private flats, parts of the viaduct and bridge over the River Brent were used as the access road, Augustus Close.

I think NEWCHOICE was probably on The Ham, possibly on the site now occupied by Bordeston Court, though it could have been just north of the High St.
