On the west side of the Isle of Dogs there were still some working wharves, and a few short lengths of road leading from West Ferry Road to end at the river. I suspect I probably had to lean rather far out over the fence here holding the camera at arms length to get this view, which perhaps accounts for the slight camera shake.

The overhanging canopy was part of Seacon's London Steel Terminal at Bullivant Wharf, built in 1976 to protect the steel from rain as it was unloaded. I'm not sure exactly where a street gave access to the river, but it could have been close to Hutching's St, where Seacon Wharf is now a large block of flats, a little back from the river.
