Established as Victoria Wharf for the Victoria linoleum works, the wharf is still one of the protected wharves on the Thames. It became the Victoria Deep Water Terminal in 1966 as a privately owned container terminal for general cargo, and continued in operation as such until 1990, handling containers from European ports. Since then under various owners it has been used for sea-dredged aggregates. The wharf can handle vessels up to 8000 tonnes.
