Somewhere off Saunders Ness Road I managed to find this view over a wall along the river bank on the east side of the Isle of Dogs, looking roughly north. There were still some industrial buildings standing here, all no longer in use and some very tall weed growth on waste land, but there was no access further along the bank. You can now walk along much of it up to the South Dock entrance, but access to the north bank of the Thames between there and Rainham is still relatively limited though better than it was in the 1980s.

Across the river are the container cranes and stacked containers of the Victoria Deep Water Terminal in North Greenwich and I can just make out the ventilation towers of the Blackwall Tunnel.

I think the riverside building nearest the camera is the listed Cubitt Town Wharf at the end of Seysell St, now converted into flats, but those behind it have I think been demolished.
